John retired a few years ago after handing over the reins to Tom. He was (and continues to be) thoroughly seduced by the good life in Sweden, especially in the summer when he spends his time acting as unofficial assistant lock-keeper on the Dalslands Kanal. He is also working hard at polishing up his Swedish.

He still does a bit of R&D for Tom and is happy to give advice occasionally when called upon. This gets less and less these days as Tom's experience now exceeds his. Lately, it's more likely that Tom helps John keep his laptop running!
